Just purchased my first cobra. F5 mk 1. It is titled with antique plates (state inspection not required)! I’d like to get classic plate so I can drive it. It doesn’t have wipers, does everyone have wipers or do they just go with antique plates and talk their way out of a pull over?
currently F5 doesnt have the wiper kits available. Has anyone installed them after the car was assembled, or used an alternate kit? If so, a link to the kit would be appreciated.

I scrapped out a 1974 MG Midget and kept the wiper mechanism. It is really slick and should work for almost any car.

New parts can be had here:

It consists of a motor, a series of metal tubes, a cable, and wiper mounts. The tubes can be cut to any length for any car. The motor can mount away into the fender well, or anywhere else.

A better diagram from the MGB:

I was having trouble getting my wipers to work properly, and I wanted to get my car inspected and registered NOW, not when I figured out the problem. So I looked over the DPS inspection criteria and found that if you present a vehicle for inspection without a windshield, wiper inspection is moot. A windshield is not required as part of the safety inspection process. Only the wiper, if you have a windshield. So I took five minutes to remove my windshield, got it inspected, and took another five to reinstall it. I also have my rear view mirror dash mounted. Only one rear view mirror is required for inspection. As the old adage goes, there is always more than one way to skin a cat.
